The Promoting Body is a non profiteering Registered Trust namely Jagdish Chand Memorial Trust, established under the Trust Registration Act, 1860. The trust comprises of leading industrialists, social, workers and educationists. The promoters have vast experience of successfully running hospital for over 10 years. This trust proposes to start a state-of-the- art Institute with the name and style Aakash Institute of Medical Sciences at village Nikkuwal, Tehsil- Nalagarh, Distt.- Solan, H.P. This institute is located at a distance of 01 Kms from Nalagarh and 20 KMs from Ropar and closely vinicity of Chandigarh, Kalka, Panchkula and Pinjore. With the ever increasing growth in the medical sector, in the State of Himchal Pradesh general and the district of Solan in particular, there is great demand of qualified Pharmacists in the hospital, teaching as well as industrial sector in India as well as abroad. The State of Himchal Pradesh which has a population of over 69 Lakh has very few Pharmacy institutions as compared to the other progressive states. This trust is, therefore, proposing to start a new institute to particularly benefit the rural people of this area and State in general. Therefore, this College of Pharmacy has been started for the courses of Diploma in Pharmacy.
